"A Clue: No" is the thirteenth episode of Season 1 of Robin Hood.

Plot[]

The cave in which Robin is hiding is surrounded by the Sheriff, Gisborne and their men. As John and Much prepare to fight, the Sheriff realises that Robin is inside the cave. He orders his men to kill John and Much, but Robin rushes out of the cave to join the fight. The Sheriff is surprised to see Robin killing people, and during the fight he falls off his horse and loses a tooth. Pitts comes out of the cave, and Gisborne orders his men to kill him. Will and Allan show up and join the fight, and the Sheriff and Gisborne are forced to retreat. Allan immediately tries to lie about where they have been, but Will tells the truth. The others reveal to them that Marian is dead.

Inside the cave Robin, heartbroken and mourning, begins making plans for taking Marian’s body to Knighton. As the outlaws say their final goodbyes to her, Allan notices that Marian is just barely breathing. The draught Pitts gave her was hemlock, and her body has been fighting back. Marian wakes up.

The Sheriff reveals to Gisborne that King Richard is not coming to Nottingham. Instead, he has hired an imposter to weed out the nobles that are plotting against him.

The outlaws take Marian, who is still weak, back to Knighton. Edward tries to convince Robin that they must meet the King at Nottingham instead of trying to stop Marian’s wedding. Gisborne comes to visit Marian, but Edward tries to get rid of him. The outlaws hide, and Edward is forced to lie to Gisborne and say that Marian is just nervous about the wedding, and Gisborne leaves. Much tells Marian about Pitts’ death, revealing to her that they no longer have a witness against Gisborne. Edward tries to again convince Robin to focus on the King and not Marian, but Robin promises to come up with a plan to save her.

Robin sits on a hill near Locksley, and Much goes to join him. Robin doesn’t want to let Marian go so Much tries to inspire him to think about the lives they can have now that the King is coming home. Robin complains that Much only cares about simple things like food and calls him a pox on his skin. Much, feeling insulted, leaves.

Marian goes to Locksley to see Gisborne. She asks him directly if he tried to kill the King, but he denies it and ends up kissing her. She leaves quickly, though he tries to stop her from doing so.

Marian is burning the Nightwatchman’s mask as Robin comes to visit her. She thinks he has been wrong about Gisborne, and announces that she is marrying Guy, and that it is time for both of them to grow up and accept their fates.

Edward and the other nobles prepare their plan at night. The outlaws arrive without Robin to help.

On Saturday morning, the people at Locksley are preparing for the wedding while Robin sits on the hill, deep in thought. Gisborne speaks with Thornton. He thinks that marrying Marian will wash his past crimes away. Marian arrives and tells Gisborne that he should be inside the church waiting for her. Gisborne notices that Edward is missing.

The nobles and outlaws arrive at the castle. Much decides that they need Robin, and turns back to go get him. On his way he sees the King and tries to speak with him, but he is ignored and pushed aside. Much realises that the King is an imposter, and that both Edward and Marian are in danger.

The fake king goes to Nottingham, where the nobles and the Sheriff welcome him. The Sheriff is arrested. The nobles give evidence against him by going into a room, where the Sheriff is already waiting for them with a dagger.

Meanwhile at Locksley, the wedding proceeds and Robin gets up to leave. Much runs into the church and starts ringing the bells, telling everyone that the King is really an imposter. Marian realises Gisborne has been lying to her, and he tells her about the Sheriff’s plan. He says that if Marian marries him, he can protect her father from being killed. Restrained by guards, Much tries to still stop the wedding by saying that Marian’s heart belongs to another before getting dragged away. Marian lets the wedding go on, and Gisborne slips the finger to her left hand. He switches it to the right and punches Gisborne in the face. She runs out of the church to meet Robin, who, having heard the bells, turned back to come get her. Much tells Robin about the King, and they ride to Nottingham. Marian splits up from Robin and Marian at the city gates, but before they do, Marian and Robin share a kiss.

At the castle, it is Edward’s turn to give evidence. Much and Robin make it into the castle just in time, and Robin goes to the Sheriff instead. Much announces to all the remaining nobles that the King is fake, and the outlaws run away. Much gets caught by the Sheriff, but Robin shoots an arrow attached to a rope through the Sheriff’s shoe, lifting him up from the ground and turning him upside down. The outlaws leave the castle, happy that they have saved the day.
