Meg Bennett was a girl put on trial for not marrying the man her father arranged for her to marry. Isabella Thornton found her innocent. However, her husband, Thornton, immediately seized power from his wife. Meg tried to help Isabella, and was subsequently arrested by Thornton. In the castle's jail, Meg met and befriended Guy of Gisborne. Escaping Thornton, Isabella released Meg, but when Meg snuck away to free Guy, Isabella felt betrayed, and sentenced Meg to die alongside him. Guy begged for Meg's life, to no avail. Pitying Meg, Robin Hood created a diversion at the execution, which allowed Guy and Meg to escape, but as they fled, a guard stabbed Meg. Guy carried Meg into Sherwood Forest, where she died in his arms.
