Plot[]

Roy is running from Gisborne’s men in the forest. He leads them into a trap, and the outlaws steal the men’s horses. As the others congratulate Roy on a job well done, they find a baby boy in the bushes. Allan tries to stop him from crying by turning him upside down. Robin realises that the horses were marked, and Gisborne and his men show up and surround the outlaws. In the ensuing fight Roy gets knocked out and taken away.

The others go to the outlaws’ camp, where John is cooking food. He finds out about Roy, and declares that he wants to go to Nottingham.

At the castle, the Sheriff is hosting the Council of Nobles. He says that the pestilence in Clun is gone, but he has no plans on lifting the quarantine. Marian argues against this, saying that the people need to be able to eat.

Roy has been brought to the dungeons, where Gisborne is beating him to get him to talk. The Sheriff asks Gisborne to find out if Roy has any relatives in Nottingham. A kitchen girl, Annie, is on her way to bring Roy some food, and stops to ask Gisborne about the baby, but he doesn’t answer. Annie and Roy talk, and Roy shows his injuries to her. She reveals that she is the mother of Gisborne’s child, and that the child has been taken to the Abbey of Kirklees. Roy realises that the baby they found in the woods is Annie’s baby. Later Annie returns to give Roy some more food, and reveals that her child’s name is Seth.

The other outlaws try to figure out a way into the castle. Will explains that one of the doors was built by Robert of York, who cannot make a good hinge, making that door the easiest way in. Later Robin quotes the Quran, and Much explains that he read it in the Holy Land.

Roy is taken up to see the Sheriff, who is busy painting his toenails. The Sheriff brings in Roy’s mother, Mary, and says that if Roy doesn’t kill Robin by the next morning, his mother will die. The Sheriff lets Roy go, armed with a dagger.

The others are about to go to Nottingham when they see Roy seemingly escape from the city. Everyone but Much is impressed, and Much even thinks that Roy’s horse was marked. Roy almost tells Robin about the Sheriff’s plan, but instead tells him Seth’s name and makes up a story about the baby’s mother living in Knighton. Roy and Robin head out to take the baby home.

Marian tries to take a cart full of bread to Clun, but is stopped by guards. Robin and Roy show up to disarm and tie up the guards. Marian holds Seth as Robin and Roy shoot the loaves of bread into the village. More guards approach, and Robin gets shot in the arm. As they escape, Marian asks if the baby is Robin’s, but he doesn’t answer.

Robin and Roy split up in the forest. Robin and Seth hide in a bush, where Roy finds them. Roy is about to kill Robin, when Marian comes up to them. She takes them to a house, where she treats Robin’s wound. As she does, she sees another wound. Robin explains that he got it in the Holy Land when Saracens attacked their camp. The wound got infected, and it was the reason he returned to England.

The other outlaws show up, and Robin asks Marian to take the baby to Knighton. After an argument, she refuses, still thinking the baby is Robin’s. The woman who lives in the house says the outlaws can stay for the night.

When Marian gets home to Knighton, the Sheriff and Gisborne are already there. The Sheriff agrees to lift the quarantine on Clun on the condition that Marian gets punished. In Nottingham, she is publicly humiliated by having her hair cut.

In the barn, where the outlaws are staying for the night, Roy can’t sleep. Robin is having a nightmare about the war. He wakes up to find Roy above him, about to kill him with the Sheriff’s dagger. The others wake up to the commotion, and John punches Roy. Eventually Roy explains the situation with his mother, and tells the others that Gisborne is the baby’s father and that Seth’s mother works in the castle. Robin decides to organise a rescue.

The gang sneaks into the castle early in the morning. Allan goes to the kitchen, where he gives Seth’s blanket to Annie. The others head to the dungeons to find Mary. They are caught by the Sheriff, and taken to the courtyard. Just as Mary is about to be hanged, Annie shows up and holds a knife to Gisborne’s throat. She screams at him in anger for leaving their baby in the woods. Gisborne hits Annie, and Allan rushes to her rescue. A fight breaks out between the outlaws and the Sheriff’s men. Robin saves Mary from the gallows.

Just as the gang is about to escape, Roy is caught by the Sheriff. He sacrifices himself and dies saying that he fights for Robin Hood and King Richard as the Sheriff’s men stab him with their swords. The others manage to get away.

Later the outlaws hold a memorial for Roy in the forest. John burns his weapon.

Some time later Marian comes to the forest with a cart. Robin comments on Marian’s hair. Annie and Seth are going to be taken to Lady Glasson. Annie thanks the outlaws, and Will gives Seth a small present. As the mother and child leave, Robin and Marian note how they are always going to different directions.

On the road Annie opens up the present, which turns out to be a tiny bow and arrow.
