Physician Blight, played by David Bamber, is treating Henry of Lewes for the Sheriff of Nottingham. When the treatment takes too long, the Sheriff forces the peasant healer Matilda to cure Henry. Blight refuses to stay if Matilda treats Henry, but later returns to examine Henry after Matilda has poisoned him. He also reveals the Sheriff that Matilda delivered the baby Robin Hood, which gets her into trouble. When the Sheriff is about to try Matilda for witchcraft, Blight is present and seems to be amused by her predicament.
