"The King is Dead, Long Live the King..." is the eighth episode of Season 3 of Robin Hood and the 34th episode of the series as a whole.
Plot[]
Prince John lives out all his coronation-related fantasies when news comes to Nottingham that King Richard has died on Crusade (which was not true, just a rumor). Heartbroken, Robin refuses to believe this until he can see the corpse. A night sortie to the crypt results in Much being trapped in a coffin with a corpse, and Robin being trapped in a coffin with Kate. It is revealed the corpse is really a waxwork. Guy finds himself bound and gagged once again, this time to a bed. He is freed when a young maid attempts to take advantage of the situation as she believes he is unconscious, but he seizes her throat. Isabella takes Prince John to her bedchamber to get Guy to him. However when she pulls the blanket of the bed she finds the maid bound and gagged. Guy takes John hostage and escapes. Robin pretends to be the returned Richard during the coronation, causing Lord Sheridan to reveal the plan. Robin then steals the crown, but returns it to the Archbishop. At the end of the episode, Guy is once again, tied up.
